Discover one of the world's most extraordinary island ecosystems on this immersive six-day conservation expedition to Lord Howe Island, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed gem in the Tasman Sea just 600km off the Australian coast. With visitor numbers strictly limited to 400 at any one time, Lord Howe offers a rare and intimate encounter with nature that is simply unavailable anywhere else.

Led by guide Jamie Creer and featuring exclusive access to renowned local scientist and naturalist Ian Hutton, this expedition combines guided nature walks, seabird colony surveys, lagoon snorkelling, and an island cruise with sixth-generation islander Brad Wilson. From the recovery of the Lord Howe woodhen to the dramatic nightly return of flesh-footed shearwaters, every day delivers wildlife encounters and conservation insights of genuine depth and meaning.

Due to sold-out flights on the 7th, this itinerary has been amended to arrive on Lord Howe Island in the morning of the 8th. You must book the flight on the 8th November, departing Sydney at 7.05 am, arriving on Lord Howe Island at 9.10 am on 8th November 2026. There will be a partial refund reflecting the unused night of accommodation and associated meals.

Fly from Sydney to Lord Howe Island, where your guide will welcome you on arrival. After settling in, a short bike ride to the Museum sets the tone for the expedition ahead — a special lecture from local environmental specialist Ian Hutton covers the island's captivating history, geology, marine ecology, and birdlife. Browse the museum's exhibits and rare book collection before heading to The Boatshed for welcome drinks with panoramic views across the lagoon and Blackburn Island at golden hour.
